Worksheet Builder Privacy Notice

“Personal data” means information that identifies, relates to, describes, or could reasonably be linked to an individual. This includes teachers, students, parents, and administrators.

We collect data in several ways:

Information You Provide

• Teacher account info: name, email, school, payment info
• Student info: name, class, assignments, grades, progress
• Communications: inquiries, feedback, support requests

Information Collected Automatically

• Usage analytics (time on platform, worksheet completion)
• Cookies and similar technologies for sign-in, analytics and advertising measurement (see Cookies, Analytics and Advertising)

Information from Third Parties

• Integrations with platforms like Google Classroom or Microsoft Teams, if authorized
• Referrals or authorized educational data provided by schools

We use personal data to:

• Provide the Service (assign, track, and grade worksheets)
• Improve and maintain the platform
• Personalize teacher experience
• Communicate important Service updates

Student data is used only for educational purposes.

We may disclose data to:

• Schools: student data may be accessible by authorized teachers/admins
• Service providers: trusted vendors providing hosting, analytics, or AI services
• Legal obligations: to comply with law, protect our rights, or respond to lawful requests

We do not sell student data or use it for advertising.

We use a small number of third-party tools, which rely on cookies or similar technologies, to understand how the Service is used and to measure our advertising:

• Google Analytics 4 (Google): measures visits and usage on our website and in the web application, including which link or campaign brought a visitor and whether they created an account. In the application it runs for teacher accounts only, and is used only to operate and improve the Service: it is not used for advertising or profiling, advertising features are switched off, and it is not linked to any advertising product. Its cookies are set on worksheetbuilder.com and its subdomains.
• Microsoft Clarity (Microsoft): creates session recordings and heatmaps, a replay of how a page was used (clicks, scrolling and navigation), on our website and for signed-in teacher accounts in the web application, so that we can find and fix usability problems. Student sessions are not recorded, except where a school or teacher asks us to investigate a specific problem: an administrator can then enable recording for that one account for a limited period, after which it stops automatically. We also configure Clarity to mask the areas that show student work, answers, grades, names, messages and passwords. Recordings are stored by Microsoft, are identified by an internal account number rather than a name or email address, and are never used for advertising.
• Meta Pixel (Meta): used only on our public website and our account sign-up pages, to measure and improve our advertising on Facebook and Instagram, for example by counting sign-ups that came from an ad. Meta may receive information such as your IP address, browser and device details, the pages you visit and whether you arrived from an ad, and may use it under Meta's own privacy policy. The Meta Pixel is never loaded on pages teachers or students use after signing in, and it never receives Student Data.

Student Data is never used for advertising or sold. We do not sell personal information for money.

Your Choices

• Block or delete cookies in your browser settings. The Service works without analytics or advertising cookies; sign-in cookies are still required.
• Opt out of Google Analytics with the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on.
• Control how Meta uses your activity for ads in your Meta ad preferences.

Student Data includes educational records, grades, assignments, and progress metrics.

• Ownership: Schools own and control Student Data.
• Processing: We act as a processor, handling data only on the school’s behalf.
• Usage: Only for authorized educational purposes; no personal profiling outside educational functionality.
• De-identified data: We may use anonymized data for improving the platform or research.
• Retention: We retain data only as long as necessary to support educational purposes.

Sharing Student Data

• Only with authorized teachers, school administrators, or trusted service providers under contract.
• May be disclosed in corporate transactions (merger, acquisition) with protections in place.

• Students under 13 are protected under COPPA.
• We collect personal data only with school or parental consent.

Teachers and schools can:

• Export or delete student data
• Control account settings and communications
• Disconnect third-party integrations

We maintain a multi-tiered security program:

• Role-based access controls
• Encryption of data in transit and at rest
• Password protection

Data may be stored in the U.S. or in locations of our trusted service providers.
